Old Coach House : An arch braced hammer-beam frame, consisting of three cross frames only without any roof or wall framing.  The frames had to be fitted into an existing building which meant that air dried timber had to be used in order to minimise potential shrinkage problems. Getting the frames into place was tricky as they were also very heavy, so we opted for lifting just the upper arch braced part pre-assembled, and then added the hammer beams straight braces etc. later.

The carpentry on this project was undertaken by us as a subcontract to Alba Green Oak Frames, and the site team was part Alba and part JRC.
